A Cold War underground museum in Ottawa is experiencing an embarrassing problem; the urinals and plumbing system are no longer fit for purpose. This is presenting an awkward problem for visitors.
The building (bunker) was carefully designed in 1959 by the President to house government officials in case of nuclear attack and became a Museum in 1997.
Time for a Face Lift?
The Museum boasts that the lavatories where well thought out and designed accordingly. The toilets were fitted on rubber pads and had flexible plumbing connections in case of an explosion, the nuclear type. Now they are in need of a refurb and an injection of public money to put them right.
